Swedish Research Council grants millions to research at the Faculty of Pharmacy

Per Artursson, Olof Eriksson, Hans Lennernäs and Ola Spjuth, researchers at Uppsala University's Faculty of Pharmacy, have been granted a total of SEK 16.68 million in the Swedish Research Council's call Medicine and Health. The grants will be received during 2020–2024.

Per Artursson, Professor of Dosage Form Design, receives SEK 4,800,000 for the project New principles for orally delivered drugs.

Olof Eriksson, Associate Senior Lecturer in Medicinal Chemistry, receives SEK 4,800,000 for the project PET imaging of immune cells in Type 1 Diabetes.

Hans Lennernäs, Professor of Biopharmaceutics, receives SEK 4,800,000 for the project New treatment strategies for intestinal injuries, the importance of peptides and non-peptides for the dynamic intestinal barrier.

Ola Spjuth, Professor of Pharmaceutical bioinformatics, receives SEK 2,280,000 for the project Systematic phenotypic profiling of cells in pharmacological safety assessment.

Professor Ola Spjuth will also receive an additional SEK 3.4 million to his project Autonomous phenotypic drug profiling in the Swedish Research Council's call Natural and engineering sciences.

The Swedish Research Council received a total of 1,144 applications in the Medicine and Health call. Of these, 247 grants totaling almost SEK 1 billion were allocated.
